Dr. Erik Reukers

Dr. Erik Reukers graduated as a dentist from Radboud University in Nijmegen in 1985 and began his career as a general dentist. After several years of running a general dental practice, he decided to further specialize in orthodontics. In 1995, he completed his orthodontic training at Radboud University and became a certified orthodontist.

In 1997, Dr. Reukers earned his PhD with research focusing on different types of fixed orthodontic appliances. Today, he practices as an orthodontist at Kindt en Reukers Orthodontists, where he continues to provide specialized orthodontic care to patients of all ages.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Reukers is actively involved in several professional dental organizations and serves as an examiner for the Specialist Registration Committee. His commitment to maintaining high professional standards has made him a respected figure within the dental community.

Driven by a longstanding interest in the relationship between sports and oral health, Dr. Reukers became a member of the Academy for Sports Dentistry (ASD) and co-founded the Dutch Association for Sports Dentistry (NVvST). He also serves as a sports dentist at the Dutch Centre for Sports Dentistry (NCST), where he focuses on the prevention and treatment of sports-related dental injuries.

Dr. Reukers frequently shares his knowledge and experience through national and international lectures on sports dentistry and sport-related orthodontic challenges. His presentations often address injury prevention, mouthguard use, and the management of dental trauma in athletes.

As an orthodontist, he regularly treats children and adults who have lost or damaged teeth as a result of sports-related accidents and trauma. This extensive clinical experience has given him in-depth expertise in mouthguards, dentoalveolar trauma management, and the long-term rehabilitation of athletes with dental injuries.
